Project Manager

Experience: Mid Level (2 to 6 years)

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful development of projects by working with resources to ensure solutions are delivered on-time and on budget according to the defined scope, timeline and cost parameters. The Project Manager plans, schedules and controls all project activities toward these objectives to satisfy the project requirements, while building positive professional relationships with clients and associates. The Project Manager is expected to lead three to four small to medium sized projects or two larger projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Work

  • Capture business requirements and use cases and drive them through the production life cycle (e.g. information architecture, user interface design, content strategy and development, visual design and front-end coding, usability and distribution).
  • Demonstrate established methods and creatively seeks out new solutions in fulfilling client needs.
  • Demonstrate qualities of diplomacy, problem solving and decisiveness. Builds mutual trust and encourages respect and cooperation among team members and clients. Motivates the team, boosts morale and ensures project efficiency.

Tactical Work

  • Establish project scope, goals, timelines, deliverables, and manage client expectations.
  • Create and maintain accurate project documentation such as statements of work, functional specs, content docs, change orders, etc.
  • Create and maintain project plans to ensure the project goals are kept within time and budget constraints.
  • Communicate the project plans to team members in order to align them with client/project goals.
  • Conduct kick-off meetings with all key stakeholders to review the overall project plan and gain consensus.
  • Manage teams of Designers, Programmers, Information Architects and others, as needed, through the life of the project.
  • Conduct timely and productive meetings; distribute agendas, communicate purpose, direct conversation to achieve goals within the time allotted, and provide subsequent meeting notes.
  • Communicate project status with team members, management and stakeholders on an ongoing basis via weekly status reports and/or other methods as needed, ensuring effective exchange of project information and deliverables.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs; keep the project plan accurate, updated and reflective of authorized project changes; facilitate client acceptance of changes.
  • Track payment milestones and ensure the timely delivery of invoices.
  • At project completion, conduct a post-mortem meeting to ascertain lessons-learned and improve process for future projects.


Qualifications:

  • BS/BA degree in Communications, Marketing, Engineering, or related area (or equivalent experience). PMP Certification preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Web site, software or interactive medium production and project management, including expert knowledge of the Web site development process.
  • Possess excellent creative, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be process-driven and able to organize people and activities.
  • Possess outstanding attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Able to focus under pressure, handling multiple priorities, while leading internal teams to the successful delivery of all projects.
  • Prior software or enterprise marketing experience either through agency or client-side work preferred.
  • Able to assess project risks and course correct.
  • Have a positive and constructive demeanor and a willingness to be held accountable for own actions.
